What does a .de domain cost?
Registration €3.99 in the first year, renewal and transfer €3.99 per year each. Including DNS management and DNSSEC.
Which extensions can I register?
We offer more than 1,000 extensions, from .de, .com, .net via country-specific TLDs (.eu, .ch, .at) to special TLDs (.cloud, .blog, .email, .online). You find the complete price list at the top of this page.
Can I transfer an existing domain to hostworld?
Yes, with our transfer process: get the auth code from your old registrar, enter it with us, done. Some TLDs require an additional email confirmation. More at /en/domain-transfer.
What is an auth code?
An 8- to 16-character security code that authorizes a domain transfer. You get it from your current registrar. With us, you find it in the Customer Menu in the domain detail view.
Do I need hosting to register a domain?
No. Domains can be booked without a hosting plan. Via DNS management, you connect the domain to any server or service, including one at another provider.
Can I forward emails without booking a mailbox?
Yes. Email forwarding comes with every domain: in the Customer Menu, you define which address is redirected to which existing mailbox, individually or as a catch-all for all addresses of the domain, without a hosting package and at no extra charge. You get your own mailbox with storage through our Email Hosting.
Which DNS records can I create myself?
A, AAAA, ALIAS, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF, SRV, CAA, HTTPS and TLSA, all in the Customer Menu, without asking support. You enter DKIM and DMARC as TXT records. Records that DynDNS maintains automatically are locked against accidental changes.
Are Whois privacy services available?
For TLDs whose registry allows it (including .com, .net, .org), yes, free of charge. For German TLDs (.de), Whois privacy is not possible due to DENIC rules.
