Email Spam Protection & Archiving

Advertising, forged invoices and harmful attachments take up your time. Have suspicious messages checked before they reach your inbox. Add protection for outgoing email and a searchable archive if needed.

Our email plans already include a spam filter. This extra product adds filtering before delivery and an optional separate archive. Email Domain Protection is a different service: it analyses reports about use of your sender domain.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about email hosting

Can I use several domains in one package?
One main domain per package. Additional domains can be added as alias domains. They share the mailboxes of the main domain. For independent domains with their own mailboxes, please book several packages.
What is the difference between a mailbox and an alias?
A mailbox is a separate account with its own password and its own storage. An alias is an additional address that delivers into an existing mailbox, for example info@ and contact@ into the same mailbox. How many aliases your plan includes is shown in the plan overview.
How large can email attachments be?
A maximum of 35 MB per attachment, the same in all plans.
Which sync protocols are supported?
IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV: this lets you synchronize mail, calendar and contacts on all common devices and mail programs.
Is ActiveSync supported?
No. Use IMAP and SMTP for email, CalDAV for calendars and CardDAV for contacts. These connect your mailbox to compatible email, calendar and contacts applications.
Is the storage per mailbox or in total?
The storage applies to the package as a whole and can be split freely across all mailboxes. A “large” mailbox can get more space, smaller ones correspondingly less.
Is there a rate limit for outgoing email?
Yes: 500 emails per hour per domain (all mailboxes of a domain combined). On request we adjust the limit for your domain. For sending newsletters, we recommend a specialized external solution.
Can I set up distribution lists?
Not directly in email hosting. For newsletters and larger distribution lists, a specialized external service is the better choice, also because of the sending limit per hour.
How does the email migration from my previous provider work?
We fetch your mailboxes via IMAP migration: folder structure, flags and attachments are preserved. On request, our support team assists with the process free of charge.
Where are the servers located?
Your mailboxes are stored on our servers in German data centers. We run the email platform and create encrypted backups.
