Frequently asked questions about email hosting
Can I use several domains in one package?
One main domain per package. Additional domains can be added as alias domains. They share the mailboxes of the main domain. For independent domains with their own mailboxes, please book several packages.
How large can email attachments be?
A maximum of 35 MB per attachment, the same in all plans.
Which sync protocols are supported?
IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV: this lets you synchronize mail, calendar and contacts on all common devices and mail programs.
Is ActiveSync supported?
No. For smartphones, tablets and mail programs, IMAP, CalDAV and CardDAV are the standards and cover the same functions, including push mail, calendar and contact sync.
Is the storage per mailbox or in total?
The storage applies to the package as a whole and can be split freely across all mailboxes. A “large” mailbox can get more space, smaller ones correspondingly less.
Is there a rate limit for outgoing email?
Yes: 500 emails per hour per domain (all mailboxes of a domain combined). For sending newsletters, we recommend a specialized external solution.
Can I set up distribution lists?
Not directly in email hosting. For newsletters and larger distribution lists, a specialized external service is the better choice, also because of the sending limit per hour.
How does the email migration from my previous provider work?
We fetch your mailboxes via IMAP migration: folder structure, flags and attachments are preserved. On request, our support team assists with the process free of charge.
Where are the servers located?
High-performance server infrastructure in German data centers: GDPR-compliant, redundantly connected, encrypted backups.
