Frequently asked questions about Managed Nextcloud
What is Nextcloud?
Nextcloud is your own online file storage with collaboration features. Store documents and photos, sync files and share selected content. Access your cloud in a browser or through the Nextcloud apps.
Do I need server knowledge?
No. We set up and operate your Nextcloud. You create users, upload files and decide who has access. No server knowledge is required to use it.
How many users can I create?
There is no limit on the number of Nextcloud users. All users share your booked storage. The optional Office extension is licensed separately per user.
Can I use my own domain?
Your cloud uses a subdomain of a domain you already own, for example cloud.yourdomain.com. The order form explains which DNS record you need to create at your domain provider. Your cloud is set up once payment has been received and the record has been verified. A new domain is not included. We can help you with the setup.
Where are my files stored?
Your cloud is hosted in Germany. Every customer cloud is a separate Nextcloud instance. For business data, you also need to set up suitable access rights and the required data protection agreements.
Is my cloud automatically end-to-end encrypted?
The connection to your cloud is encrypted using HTTPS. This does not mean all files are automatically end-to-end encrypted. If you have specific encryption requirements, we will discuss a suitable setup before you order.
Are Office and video meetings included?
Collabora Office and the Talk High Performance Backend are not included in the base price. Office is charged per booked Office user, while the Talk backend is charged per cloud. You can find the prices in the optional features section above.
Can I move my existing files?
You can download files from your current storage and upload them to Nextcloud. Contact us first for large amounts of data or an existing Nextcloud. We will discuss the work involved and whether additional services are needed.
What happens if I need more storage?
You can move to a larger plan. Contact our support team before your storage is full. After the change, the price of the larger plan applies.
How do I cancel?
Plans are billed monthly. You can cancel with 7 days' notice before the end of the billing period. Download your files before your contract ends. Your cloud will no longer be available after it is shut down.
