Images for installation on your server
We offer you a wide selection of preconfigured images for installation on your virtual server. The images are installed easily via the server control panel.
Your own ISO images
You can upload your own ISO images (in .iso format) or existing virtual servers (in .qcow, .qcow2 or .raw format) via your browser or cURL and use them.
VNC console and rescue system
Via the VNC console you reach your server even when it no longer responds over the network. For repairs you can start the rescue system.

You get help from us by email and phone, from real people.
Plesk control panel
Optionally, you can add the Plesk control panel in the Web Admin / Web Pro / Web Host editions directly during checkout.

Snapshots
Roll back to the last working state with a snapshot
Before a risky update, you create a snapshot of your server with one click. If something goes wrong, you roll the system back to exactly this state, without reinstalling.
A snapshot is still not a backup: it sits on the same storage and does not help in the event of a hardware failure. A separate backup outside the server remains your job, e.g. with Restic, Duplicati or a Storage Server as the target.

n8n: automate workflows
n8n connects your services with each other and starts workflows on a schedule or on demand. On your own server there is no limit on the number of executions. Your credentials stay with you. On our product page n8n Hosting we recommend 4 vCPU and 8 GB of RAM for this, which here corresponds to the HT VPS Plus W1.
Docker: several services on one server
With Docker and Docker Compose you run several services side by side, each in its own container. A container is replaceable. When its image is renewed, everything that lived only inside the container is lost. That is why you put databases, uploaded files and configurations in a volume on the server. Updating the images and a backup outside the server remain your job. Which size you need depends on the services, not on the number of containers. Memory is usually the first limit.
OpenCloud: files under your own roof
OpenCloud is an open-source project for self-hosted file storage, founded in 2024 by parts of the ownCloud team. Installation and updates are up to you, we provide the server. Keep an eye on disk space. The storage of the plan is also the storage for your files. On our product page OpenCloud Hosting we recommend 32 GB of RAM, the HT VPS Max W1 has 24 GB.

Frequently asked questions about the VPS plans
What is KVM virtualization?
KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a Linux hypervisor that runs virtual machines directly on the hardware. Each VM gets dedicated vCPU, RAM and storage resources, with no overbooking, so other customers on the same node do not slow your server down.
What is the difference between HT VPS Solo, Plus and Max?
HT VPS Solo suits small projects with a single application (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM). HT VPS Plus fits medium load and several services side by side (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 2.5 Gbit/s). HT VPS Max is built for high load, many parallel applications or customer systems (8 vCPU, 24 GB RAM, 400 GB NVMe).
Can I add Plesk?
Yes, three editions can be selected directly during checkout: Web Admin (10 domains, WP Toolkit SE), Web Pro (30 domains, WP Toolkit, account management) or Web Host (unlimited domains, reseller management).
Which distributions can I install?
6 Linux distros are preconfigured (AlmaLinux, Debian, OpenSUSE, RockyLinux, Ubuntu Server). In addition, FreeBSD as an image and DVD installers for special systems incl. Windows Server 2022/2025 (180-day trial license).
How do my own ISOs work?
You upload your own images (iso, qcow, qcow2, raw) via browser or cURL and install them like a preconfigured distro.
Are snapshots the same as backups?
No. Snapshots are point-in-time copies on the same storage, ideal for a quick rollback before risky changes, but no protection against hardware failures. For real backups you implement your own strategy, e.g. with Restic, Duplicati or a second Storage Server as the target.
What does the connection look like?
The host node has an uplink of 2× 10 Gbit/s. The VM connection is fixed per plan: 1 Gbit/s with the HT VPS Solo W1, 2.5 Gbit/s with HT VPS Plus W1 and HT VPS Max W1.
How is the DDoS protection set up?
The protection is permanently active and filters suspicious traffic at the network edge before it reaches your server.
What happens if the node's hardware fails?
In the event of a hardware failure, the VM is migrated to another node. Snapshots make a controlled restart easier. Backups (outside the node) are your responsibility, see the snapshot question.
What is the minimum contract term?
You choose between a monthly term and 12 months. The listed price applies to the monthly term. With 12 months it drops by 10%. With annual prepayment another 5% comes on top. No setup fee.
Which payment methods are available?
SEPA direct debit, credit card (incl. Apple Pay / Google Pay), PayPal and bank transfer.
Can I upgrade or downgrade the plans later?
An upgrade is possible at any time. A downgrade is only possible to a limited extent, because the assigned storage cannot be reduced.
