How filtering works
Protection along the route your email takes
Your email addresses and mailboxes stay in place. Depending on your plan, the filter checks messages before delivery, before sending or in both directions.

The sender and content are checked for spam and malware.

Messages considered safe reach your existing mailbox.
Suspicious messages are held or rejected depending on the checks. You can review and release messages in quarantine. Email rejected during acceptance cannot be retrieved there.

Your configured mail server or email application sends it through the filter.
The outgoing filter checks
It checks whether a message is recognised as spam before forwarding it.
On to the recipient
Approved messages are forwarded to the recipient’s mail server.
Detected spam is stopped. This helps protect your sender reputation if, for example, an email account is compromised. We help you configure sending through the filter for this protection.

For email archiving in line with GoBD requirements
Archive received email, sent email or both, depending on your selected filter. We handle the technical setup of your archive and configure retention periods and access rights according to the requirements agreed with you.
The inbound filter archives received email, the outbound filter archives sent email. For both directions, choose Complete Protection with archiving.
You determine the retention periods required for your business and document your business processes in a procedural document. Archiving starts after activation. Existing mailbox contents are not imported automatically.

Setup
We help you make the switch
- 1Choose your plan and enter your domain
When ordering, enter the domain whose email you want to protect. You do not need to transfer your domain or open a new mailbox.
- 2Agree the email configuration
We review the mail server confirmed during your order with you. For outbound filtering, we also check how your outgoing email can be routed through the filter.
- 3Prepare the filter and switch traffic
We change the email route only after the filter and delivery destination are configured. If another provider manages your DNS, we supply the records they need.
- 4Check delivery together
We check incoming and, where applicable, outgoing email. After provisioning, you can open your protection portal from the customer panel. We help set up any archiving you ordered.

Keep your mailboxes, add protection
Using Mail Solo, Mail Plus or Mail Max? Select spam protection as an extra product during checkout. You can also order a filter separately for a domain you already use.
Our email plans already include a spam filter. This extra product adds filtering before delivery and an optional separate archive. Email Domain Protection is a different service: it analyses reports about use of your sender domain.
Questions about Spam Protection and Archiving
Do I need new email addresses or mailboxes?
No. Keep using your existing addresses and mailboxes. The filter is added to your email delivery route. The spam protection plan itself does not include a mailbox.
Can I order the archive on its own?
No. Archiving requires at least inbound or outbound filtering. It captures only messages in the direction you have ordered and configured. To archive received and sent email, you need both filters.
What happens when my archive grows?
Storage expands automatically in 10 GB blocks. Each started block costs an additional €6.99 per month. Once usage exceeds 10 GB, two blocks are charged. The first 10 GB is included in the archiving option price.
Can I use the filter with another email provider?
Inbound filtering is possible if DNS records can be changed and your current mail server accepts filtered messages. Outbound filtering requires the ability to route outgoing email through the filter. We check these requirements with you during setup.
Is adding DNS records enough?
Inbound filtering requires replacing the existing records for receiving email. Outbound filtering also requires a change to the sending route. Please wait for our setup instructions before making changes.
How many mailboxes are covered per domain?
The filter plans cover one domain with up to 1,000 mailboxes. If you need more, we agree an offer before setup. Archive pricing depends on storage usage.
Will the filter block every harmful email?
No filter detects every threat. Continue checking unexpected attachments and payment requests carefully. Check quarantine regularly so that legitimate messages held by mistake are not missed.
