Additional IP addresses
A separate public address for your service
Some applications need their own IP address, such as an additional VPN endpoint or a separately operated mail server. You can add up to ten IPv4 addresses to your server for this purpose. Hosting several websites usually needs only the address already included.
€2.24 per additional IPv4 address / month · with a 12-month term
Choose the number during server checkout or later under the network add-ons tab in your customer area. Additional addresses are billed with your server for the same term. Configure them in the operating system once they have been assigned.
More storage or computing resources
Add CPU capacity and RAM within your server line when your applications need more resources. Local Block Storage provides another NVMe disk for additional files and applications.
Questions and answers
Can several servers use one Cloud VLAN?
Yes. One network can connect several of your VPS and Root Servers. Pay once per network. You can order more networks for separate projects. Each server supports up to ten network interfaces in total, including its public internet interface.
Where is Cloud VLAN available?
Cloud VLAN connects your VPS and Root Servers at the Nuremberg location. Your customer area lists the servers you can connect.
Do I need to configure the connection myself?
Connect the servers in your customer area. Then configure private IP addresses in their operating systems. Each connected server needs a unique address within the same private range. Our support team can help explain the setup.
How do I disconnect a server from the network?
Shut down that server first. Disconnect it from the private network in your customer area, then start it again. The other servers remain connected. The network contract continues until you cancel it separately.
Is the private network encrypted?
The VLAN separates traffic between your servers from the public network. It does not encrypt that traffic automatically. If your application needs encryption, configure it separately, for example with TLS or a VPN.
Are additional IPv4 addresses failover addresses?
No. An additional address belongs to the server it was ordered for and is configured there. We do not provide automatic failover to another server for these addresses.
